Trip overview

Climbing to Ama Dablam is ideal for those who are searching for the most challenging peak in Nepal. Ama Dablam peak climb demands a lot of technical experience and advanced equipment. In Nepal, it is regarded as the Himalayas’ adornment. Despite only being 6812 meters high, Ama Dablam is full of difficult ice, rock, and snow climbing. During the trek, only two camps can be used for sleeping above the base camp (4,570m). The South-West Ridge is the common climbing route for this trail.

Ama Dablam is one of the most complex and technically tricky mountains to climb. The intimidating peak of Mt. Ama Dablam rises to 6,856 meters (22,493 feet). Although technical knowledge and preparation are required, most climbers keep this expedition on their bucket lists. If you want to climb the other highest mountains, you can do it on Makalu, Annapurna IV, Manaslu, Lhotse South Face, and other peaks such as Everest from the North Ridge and Makalu Expedition.

These mountains are among the world’s most challenging, intimidating, and adventurous summits. Ama Dablam peak is difficult to climb, and you’ll need sherpas and guides to help you. For peak climbing, you need to have a strong foundation of rock climbing and ice climbing experience. Climbers must be adept at ascending or descending fixed ropes and passing anchors because most of Ama Dablam’s climbing path is set by climbing rope. In addition, we provide specialized trekking, expedition, and peak-climbing packages as per your plan.

Your tour starts in Kathmandu, followed by a flight to Lukla (2840 meters), followed by a walk to the villages of Phakding (2610 meters) and Namche Bazaar (3440 meters), where we will spend the day acclimatizing before moving to the heights.

We take the trail to Tyangboche (3860 m), then to Ama Dablam Base Camp, where our climbing journey begins (4600 m). While building up our stamina and lowering the risk of altitude sickness, we will spend time getting ready for our ascent, practicing, and ascending to numerous higher camps. On a remaining day, Our professional will review your climbing techniques.  And they ensure whether you developed your quality skills for peak climbing or not.

Highlights:

  • Mt. Amadablam (6812 m)
  • Renowned mountain ranges, such as Mt. Cho Oyu (8201 m),
  • Mt. Lhotse (8516 m), Mt. Makalu (8481 m), and Mt. Everest (8848 m).
  • Mike Gill, Barry Bishop, Mike Ward, and Wally Romanes were the first climbers to conquer Mount Amadablam via its Southwest Ridge in 1961.

The excursion leader will decide the plan for the day; the daily schedule is flexible depending on the weather. You'll pitch up camp in three different altitudes over these two weeks and stay there for at least one day each time. You will establish Camp 1 at around 5,700 m after navigating the ridge's ups and downs on foot.
As you continue your journey, you will climb higher until you reach some steep slopes and then turn toward another ridge. Then, Camp 2 is established at a distance of around 5,900 meters and has a smaller surface area than Camp 1. Therefore, you must use caution when residing at Camp 2. The terrain will change to include more rocks, snow, and ice as the track ascends to higher altitudes. After that, you'll cross the mushroom ridge and move up to about 6,300 meters, where Camp III, the final camp, will be put up. You will climb up to Amadablam's summit from here. The experience is captivating, and the view from the top is stunning.
At the three camps, you will train and be ready for this excursion. You can hone your mountaineering abilities and learn how to use the equipment with the crew's assistance. The projected time to reach the peak is in these two weeks. On occasion, it might take longer.
