Trip overview

Chulu Far East Peak Climbing and Expedition is a beautiful peak in Nepal’s Manang area that rises north of Marsyangdi Khola. Expedition Peak is part of the Manang Himalayan range, which includes Dhaulagiri, Gangapurna, Manaslu, Glacier Dome, Chulu West, Pisang Peak, and other snow-capped peaks bordering Tibet. Among the three Chulus, Chulu Far East Mountain is also regarded as Nepal’s easiest but most adventurous climbing.

In 1955, a German expedition team became the first to scale the mountain. Climbers will like the Chulu Far East Peak Climbing Summit because It provides you with the opportunity to climb a somewhat difficult and adventurous peak. It also involves a visit to Tilicho Lake, the highest lake in the world at 4,920 meters, and a traverse of the difficult Mesokanta La Pass at 5,120 meters. From there we will have a spectacular view of Mustang and the Tibetan Plateau. Chulu Far East necessitates technical climbing ability, so the prior climbing experience is required.

Drive south from Kathmandu to Chame.

After a full day of sightseeing in Kathmandu, Chulu Far East Climbing will drive from Kathmandu to Chame, the starting location of the trek. From Chame, we begin our journey over small climbing trails surrounded by deep trees to Pisang. We continue our journey to Humde Village, where we will observe the longest prayer wheels and hang prayer flags, before proceeding to Junu Khola.

After a day of acclimatization at Junu Khola, we continue our trek to Chulu Far East Base Camp through a dangerous rock crossing. In addition, our challenging walk is rewarded with spectacular vistas of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri mountain ranges. Furthermore, we will spend some time at Chulu Far East Base Camp acclimatizing and climbing. Not only that, but we’ll also conduct some planning and a brief trek up to the neighboring glaciers. We trek via the snow slopes from base camp to high camp (5500m).

Climbing Chulu Far East Peak

We start early and travel towards the peak, fully equipped and acclimatized. before reaching Chulu Far East Peak Tour we traverse through gentle but high snow ridges and rocks which are guided by our experienced climbing Sherpa. throughout the journey, we are also rewarded with spectacular views of Annapurna I, II, III, IV, Dhaulagiri, Gangapurna, Manaslu, Pisang Peak, Chulu West, and other snow-capped summits bordering Tibet.

We return to Chulu Far East Base Camp after spending a brief but meaningful time at the peak. Then our adventure takes us to Tilicho Lake, a crystal blue glacier lake. From there, we travel to the Mesokanta La Pass (5120m), a hard and adventurous peak climbing and mountaineering crossing. We will continue our very simple downhill trip through Yak Kharka, Muktinath, and eventually Jomsom. Our exhilarating Chulu Far East Peak Trek concludes with a picturesque flight from Jomsom to Pokhara and then back to Kathmandu.

After breakfast, we'll take a picturesque drive from Kathmandu to Chame. Our journey begins along the banks of the Trishuli River and continues along the banks of the Marsyangdi River. Previously, we could only travel up to Besisahar, but with the recent expansion of the motorway, we can now drive all the way to Chame. While driving through roadside towns and villages, we will get the opportunity to watch the daily activities of local people for survival.

Day 4: Trek to Pisang (3185m)

After breakfast in Chame, we will hike up a difficult trail through a dense pine forest as we ascend to higher altitudes. Our journey is a few hours of gentle uphill climbing. Our path will soon widen, and we will be surrounded by stunning snow-capped peaks. We continue our trip until we reach Pisang for the night.

Day 5: trek to Humde Village from Pisang (3330m)

Today's walk is rather short and easy. We'll leave Pisang and travel to Humde village. Humde village comprises scattered habitations with a few teahouses and lodges. Humde is well-known for having the region's longest prayer wheels, with a total of 266 wheels in the village center. We will travel till we reach Humde village, where we will spend the night.

Day 6: Trek to Julu Khola (3500m)

After breakfast, we will depart Humde and follow a leveled path through less dense or thin vegetation for a few hours. Today's hike will provide us with spectacular views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri Himalayan Ranges, as well as Pisang Peak. We'll arrive at Juju Khola in no time, where our Sherpa crew will set up camp and make the required preparations for our journey into higher heights. Camping for the night at Juju Khola.

Day 7: Acclimatization Day

We have now climbed nearly 3500 meters above sea level, so acclimatization is critical to avoiding mental and physical illness and ensuring a successful summit ascent of Chulu Far East Peak. As a result, today is a rest day for acclimatization and exploring. Furthermore, Juju Khola has a couple of nice trek options that are deemed optimal for acclimatization.

Day 8: Trek to Chulu Far East Base Camp (5000m)

Our journey takes us through tough, rocky terrain that might be exhausting. Resting every now and again is therefore a smart idea, as it also helps to replenish energy. Our crew will set up camp and complete the necessary preparations for transferring the camps to higher elevations before tackling the major summit climb of Chulu Far East Peak.

Day 9: Acclimatization Day at Chulu Far Base Camp

Today we will rest at the base camp one more day because acclimatization is critical for a successful summit climb of Chulu Far East Peak. So we'll spend the day acclimating and exploring the base camp. From the base camp, we can enjoy amazing views of high mountain valleys, the Annapurna Himalayan Ranges, and other high mountain chains from the base camp.

Day 10: Trek back to Chulu Far East High Camp (5500m)

After a full day of acclimatization at the base camp, we depart and take a pretty challenging track that climbs sharply across snow slopes. We keep walking with panoramic views of the Annapurna Himalayan Ranges, Pisang Peak, Chulu East, Chulu West, Chulu Far East, and several snow-capped high peaks while we use our crampons. After a few hours of arduous climbing, we will arrive at a suitable campground for our high camp. Our Sherpa team will set up camp and double-check our climbing gear before the main summit climb the next day.

Day 11: Summit Chulu Far Peak (6059m)

Today is the day we've all been looking forward to. We set out early, fully acclimatized and armed with all of the necessary climbing gear, with the goal of reaching the peak before noon. We will overcome various challenging portions and reach the peak by following the supervision and instruction of our experienced climbing specialists. Our exhausting ascent to the peak is rewarded with stunning views of the Annapurna Himalayan Ranges, Gangapurna, Manaslu, Pisang Peak, and many snow-capped mountains. We will spend a short amount of time at the peak before returning via the same route to the base camp.

Day 12: Trek to Manang (3551m)

After successfully reaching the peak of Chulu Far East Peak, we begin our return journey, which is a pleasant downhill hike all the way to Manang. We head towards Manang Valley, with spectacular views of the surrounding snow-capped hills. Manang is well-known for its rich cultural and traditional heritage. While in the village of Manang, we will get the opportunity to experience the traditional lifestyle of the native Manang people.

Day 13: Trek to Siri Khorka (4060m)

We will depart Manang after breakfast and continue the trail that requires elevation all the way up to Khangsar. We'll have to cross a bridge over the Khangsar river and continue our journey to Khangsar village on a somewhat simple incline. We continue our slow upward journey from Khangsar, with good views of the surrounding snow-capped high peaks, to Siri Kharka, where we will spend the night.

Day 14: Trek to Tilicho Base Camp (4200m)

We leave Siri Kharka and continue our journey by following a generally downhill trail. Our trail is rather narrow in certain places and passes through landslide-prone zones. To reach Tilicho Base Camp, we will go through several ice lakes and across glaciers. If we're lucky, we'll be able to see endangered and uncommon species of wild creatures. We continue our journey until we reach Tilicho Base Camp, where we will spend the night.

Day 15: Trek to Tilicho Lake from Tilicho Base Camp

After breakfast, we will follow the trail that climbs steeply to Tilicho Lake (4920 m). When we arrive at Tilicho Lake, our team will set up a tent and we will tour the magnificent Tilicho Lake. Exploring around one of the gorgeous lakes at higher altitudes is certainly a great experience.

Day 16: trek from Tilicho Lake to Yak Kharka (4200m)

From Tilicho Lake, we take the trail that gradually ascends to Mesokanto La Pass (5120 meters). The crossing of Mesokanto Pass is considered rigorous and challenging, with a four-hour climb to the pass's summit. We descend smoothly from the pass's summit and enter the Mustang District. Because there are no tea shops or lodges in this area, our crew will set up camp in the wide and flat grazing grounds of Yak Kharka for the night.

Day 17: Trek to Jomsom (2700m)

The final day of our walk begins in Yak Kharka and descends for several hours to the settlement of Marpha, popularly known as the Apple Garden. We'll take a somewhat easy trek from Marpha to Jomsom. With its airfield and variety of tea houses and amenities. Jomsom is the primary administrative city of Mustang and an important hub for Upper Mustang Treks. When we get to Jomsom, we will celebrate our successful Chulu Far East Peak Climb with our colleagues.

Day 18: take flight from Jomsom to Pokhara

We'll take an early morning flight from Jomsom to Pokhara after breakfast. After landing at Pokhara airport, you will be transported to your hotel. The rest of the day will be spent sightseeing in Pokhara's gorgeous valley. Pokhara is surrounded by dense forests, green lakes, and other natural wonders. The reflection of the Machhapuchre (Fish-Tail) over the tranquil Fewa Lake adds to the enchantment of this location. Furthermore, boating on Fewa Lake, visiting sacred sites, and sightseeing throughout the city are all enjoyable ways to spend a day in Pokhara.

Day 19: Drive back to Kathmandu

Today we will drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu, which will take roughly four to five hours. After landing in Kathmandu, you can either relax at a hotel or go for a walk around the bustling commercial lanes of Thamel.
