Trip overview

This is the most physically challenging of our non-technical program. It is more strenuous than Kilimanjaro, Rainier, or Everest Base Camp (Nepal side). The advanced camp above the North Base Camp of Everest (EABC) on the Tibetan side is arguably the highest point on earth that can be attained without mountaineering skills. You will spend over two weeks over 4300m/14,000 feet. It is important to be in good physical condition. With that being said, we should note that on the 2004 EABC trek we had three participants in their 50s, and two in their 60s (one 68-year-old) that all successfully made it to EABC! This trip is for those in good shape, enjoy hiking, and traveling,, and don’t have any underlying health issues that might be worsened by the high
altitude over time. The trekking underfoot is quite gentle, despite the altitude.
