Trip overview

Marsyandi River Rafting is a 5–6 hour drive by bus west of Kathmandu to the riverside. If you begin in Nagdi, porters will transport all the rafting equipment and other necessities for the river trip, and the trek will take approximately two hours. Transportation from Pokhara is also available. The 35 kilometers of river action takes two days. Bus transportation is provided from the take-out point of the Marsyandi river trip at Bimalnagar to either Kathmandu (5 hours) or Pokhara (2.5 hours). There is an orientation meeting early in the evening before the trip, providing you with an opportunity to ask any questions you may have and to meet your fellow rafters, as well as your guide and team.

The Marshyangdi River is an excellent choice for those seeking an intense and extreme rafting adventure, and it is best suited to those with prior rafting experience. The half-day trek is a plus point for the uniqueness of this journey.

Itinerary

Day 1: From Kathmandu to Bhulbhule

Drive to Khudi, then embark on an interesting hike through stunning scenery and traditional Nepali villages to Bulbule. All of the gear is unloaded at Khudi, and a short hike follows. Once in Bhulbhule, the camp is established at one of the vantage places with spectacular views of the Himalayas. Sunset vistas are breathtaking.

Day 2: Bhulbhule to Khudi

Hike up to Ngadi with the gears to the river point to experience the river's most knuckle-biting passages. So enjoy the continuing Class 4 rapids. The expedition leader and guides will educate and train you on safety and paddling techniques. Set the camp at Khudi and stay there overnight.

Day 3: Khudi to Dam

We raft the areas of surrounded by lush green vegetation and the boat crashes through canyons. We halt for lunch on a beautiful sandy beach after five hours of enjoyment on the rapids and canyons. After lunch, the rafters continue their trip on the rushing waters of the Marshyangdi, which takes them to a camping location before the Middle Marsyangdi Hydro Dam, on one of the most beautiful and comfortable sandy beaches.

Day 4: Dam to Bimal Nagar

The day starts with a transfer to Paundi, which is located beyond the Dam. As this concrete structure comes in the way, there is a halt in the river voyage, and everything has to be ferried across to a location further down from it. The next put-in site is at Paundi from whence another 3 hours of rafting begins with Class 3 rapids.
